Here’s a great capture from yesterday’s photo shoot at the Big Gay Ice Cream shop.

Couple months ago I attended the Dim Sum Y’all dinner at City Grit, run by Sarah Simmons. Then I went back to take some behind the scenes photos and I (smartly) picked the nights that Chef Drew Robinson from Jim ‘N Nicks BBQ was guest chefting. And oh my was it awesome to take photos and to be in the kitchen surrounded by pork belly, homemade ham(!), sausages and pimento cheese (if you’ve been a regular at the Big Apple BBQ Block Party, you’ll know about this dish), and bbq pork shoulder.
Chef Josh Gentry, of the soon-to-be-open Little Donkey in Birmingham, Al did his dinner the night before and was there to help out Chef Robinson, was constantly blasting music and kept everyone pumped out during dinner service.
Anyone wanna take a road trip to Alabama?

I’m quite excited to tell you that I’m part of “Feast Your Eyes” photo show by the New York Photo Festival. You can probably guess that this show is all about food. It’ll be awesome to see works by other photographers all in one place. The two images below are the ones that got accepted. Left is Nate Smith, Alexis Krisel and Sara Kramer from Allswell in Williamsburg and on the right is Nicole Chaszar of Sea Bean Goods.

So if you’re around this coming Friday Jan 6th, come on by to the show at the powerHouse Arena (37 Main St and Water St) in Dumbo, Brooklyn. The show starts at 6pm till 9pm and will be up till Jan 27th. For more info check out their site.
Also with the success of my Foodaissance show at the James Beard House last September, I’m planning to do another show some time this year. Yeah!

The whole night was fantastic. I was mostly in the kitchen while Nate, Alexis and Sara were pumping out dish after dish. I”m thrill to go back and eat some more because the food that night…oh the food that night was so delicious. Also they have the awesomest wallpapers.
