Last Friday I got invited to friends and family night at Allswell, Chef Nate Smith’s new restaurant in Williamsburg (124 Bedford Ave at N. 10th St).
The whole night was fantastic. I was mostly in the kitchen while Nate, Alexis and Sara were pumping out dish after dish. I”m thrill to go back and eat some more because the food that night…oh the food that night was so delicious. Also they have the awesomest wallpapers.
Saw this while wandering around South Williamsburg. And if you find yourself in South Williamsburg and craving for some major tasty tacos, head over to Mexico 2000.
Wow I was pretty impressed with The Brooklyn Local event by City Harvest. The event was to raise money for City Harvest (City Harvest works with greenmarkets and restaurants to take their food that usually would go to waste and gives them to the needy).
I was impressed by how organized the event was and it never felt too crowded even with the 75 local food vendors. Looking forward to next year.
This past Saturday was Steve’s Ice Cream Pint Mash Up at 61 Local, which I stole and turned it into my 8 years in NYC party. It was awesome. So much ice cream and beers and friends!
Last month I saw on my friend’s (Eastern District) facebook page about these cheeseboards that they were selling and got written up on Design*Sponge. They do look mighty beautiful. I found out from Eastern District that their studio is just down on Manhattan Ave so I emailed Tomas Daskam and Josh Dworkis to see if I could get a peek of their studio. They said yes!
Their studio is pretty awesome and has a nice view of the city. Josh gave me a quick tour and showed me few things they’re currently working on. Thanks again Josh and Tomas!
